Global impact through local faith

At Harvest, we believe that the local church plays a vital role in the global mission of the gospel. Through prayer, financial support, and faithful partnership, we help send those called to teach, serve, and share the good news—both near and far.

“You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God… We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.” — 3 John 6–8

Currently, Harvest supports three Church of God World Missions projects, extending our reach to communities across the globe. These efforts are made possible by the generosity and commitment of our church family.

If you have a missionary project you feel called to support, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact our office with the details, and let’s explore how we can partner together for the sake of the gospel. If you wish to give in support of these projects or any missionary please use our online giving platform and select missions in your gift.

Benson and Cathy Vaughan,

Educators to the Seminary of South America -  Project #: 065-0138

Benson and Cathy are missionary-educators at the Seminary of South America (SEMISUD) in Quito, Ecuador. Their primary focus has always been teaching at the Seminary, but they are also involved in training ministers, developing leaders, strengthening local churches through outreach and workshops, and when possible, humanitarian aid.

Benson, a third-generation ordained bishop in the Church of God, formerly worked as a public school teacher in Maryland, and Cathy was a medical technologist who worked in hospitals in Maryland and Tennessee. They developed a love for international students while they both attended and graduated from Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

It was during their seminary days that they realized God was calling them into missions, and they gladly accepted the call into that ministry. During the past 22 years, they have served as missionary educators in over 30 countries on five continents.

CIty of Refuge - Project # 102-9572

Our Mission: City of Refuge Baltimore seeks to partner with individuals and families in crisis to clear a pathway out of poverty and into a thriving community.

With 15 years of experience meeting people’s most basic needs of food, clothing, and resources; in 2017 we shifted into a partnership with families in a more deep way.  City of Refuge Baltimore is a growing leader in the business of social transformation. We are located in the middle of Brooklyn and Curtis Bay on the south side of Baltimore city, one of the most struggling neighborhoods where nearly 35% of the residents live below the Federal Poverty Level.

We believe the people of Brooklyn and Curtis Bay desire and deserve to live abundantly with access to vital resources, networks, and opportunities. In light of this, City of Refuge Baltimore seeks to partner with individuals and families in crisis to clear a pathway out of poverty and into a thriving community.

Dan and Teresa Susong - Project # 065-0229

Dan and Teresa Susong minister to Hispanic children and youth (especially Quichua children) who have immigrated to the city and work in the streets just to help their families survive.

Through their ministry center called FACES, God has provided the working children a safe place to come in off the streets, eat a hot lunch, and actually play as children.  They also receive clothing, shoes, medical help, and Bible teaching. The Susongs work directly with the families to reinsert the youth into an educational program. In 2006 they founded New World Christian High School where working adolescents receive a personalized education.

Dan and Teresa Susong began serving as missionaries to Ecuador in 2003. Dan has been involved in ministry since he was 20 years old. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern University and his Masters in Communications from Regent University. He has been producer/director for a national cable news show. Before going to Ecuador, he worked as video producer for Church of God World Missions, helping raise funds for mission work around the world.

Teresa felt the call to missions as a young girl. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in social work and master’s in pastoral psychology, she worked in the field of family and children’s counseling and social work for 25 years before bringing her skills to the mission field.

Today they continue to help hundreds of Ecuadorian children get off the streets and into a better life where they can be introduced to he Gospel  and receive an education that greatly improves their quality of life.
